Adult Forum

Clergy-led discussions of the Bible, theology, Church history and contemporary issues. Held Sundays at 10:00-10:50 a.m. in the Parish Hall from September through May.  Adult Forum resumes on September 14th - see the schedule of topics here.

Foundations Discussion

This group offers interactive discussion focused on parents interested in strengthening a Christian foundation within the home, and each session has a uniqe theme. Led by Todd and Abbey Bauer, on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in the library (September through May). Foundations Discussions resume on September 14th.

Bible Study Group

Join us on Monday evenings (7:00-8:30pm) starting on September 22nd as we discuss "Reading the Bible Again for the First Time: Taking the Bible Seriously but Not Literally" by Marcus J. Borg.  The location on church property will be determined by class size.  Led by the Rev. Mary Staley.  

Book Discussion Group

Periodic book discussion groups are held throughout the year.  There are no groups currently meeting as of September 2008.

Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study

Join the men for breakfast and discussion on theological, current, and biblical topics.  Led by the Rev. David Stoddart, held at 7:00 a.m. on Thursdays in the Parish Hall.

Women's Bible Study

This group meets on Tuesday mornings, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at Lucia House - childcare provided. Studies of the Bible are augmented with other literatureThe group will resume meeting on September 9th.

Education for Ministry (EfM)

EfM is an ongoing four-year program of theological study to discover how we can answer the call to ministry in our baptism, sponsored by the School of Theology at Sewanee, The University of the South. Partcipants sign up for one year at a time.  Meets weekly September through June.  If you are interested in finding out more information or signing up for the September 2008 session, please contact the church office at 434.973.6512.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Book Group

The ECW Book Group meets monthly, and will kick off the new season on Monday, September 15th at 1:00pm in Lucia House to determine this season's reading list. All women are invited to attend.

Sharing God's Peace

This interfaith ministry brings persons of different religions and cultures together for conversation and study to better understand each other, a ministry particularly needed during the current period of tension and hostility. All are welcome!  Meets the first Thursday each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Rock Chapel. 

Strengths' Journey

This small discussion group is an exploration into the talents God has given us as individuals.  The Strengthsfinder assessment tool is utilized.  It is a six week class scheduled in the spring. Check back for more information in March.
