Also known as “The Knitwits…and More” this group of creative parishioners started making prayer shawls and lap robes in 2004. Their ministry expanded to include outreach as well as inreach projects. In 2007 they began creating Anglican prayer beads as gifts for youth and adults who are confirmed or received in the Episcopal church by our bishops. They also present the Anglican beads to adult baptisms to those who may already have a received shawls or lap robes but could use further affirmation of COOS love and caring. The members of the Knitwits began making baby blankets and quilts, preemie caps and chemo caps share with parishioners as well as residents of local nursing homes and hospitals.
The Knitwits chat, pray, and share coffee and snacks while they go about our knitting or beading and would welcome new participants at any time! No skills required … they are happy to get you started knitting, crocheting, quilting, or beading.
The Knitwits meet once a month (most months) from 10am to noon at Lucia House. Please see the parish calendar for the next meeting or contact Jackie Hostage, Susan Wist or Donna Somerville.
