Rev. David M. Stoddard
The Rev. David M. Stoddart • RECTOR

Born in New York, David grew up in Dallas, where he attended St. Mark's School of Texas, a church-affiliated prep school that introduced him to the Episcopal Church. He went from there to Harvard, where he concentrated in the study of religion and grew close to the Society of St. John the Evangelist, an Episcopal monastic community that helped form his prayer life and spirituality. After graduating in 1983, he taught at Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island for three years and began the ordination process in the Diocese of Rhode Island. He studied at the General Theological Seminary in New York City, completing his Master of Divinity degree in 1989. For the next five years he worked as Associate Rector of Christ Church in Westerly, Rhode Island, where he fell in love with and married his wife, Lori Ann. David then served as Rector of St. Luke's Church in Worcester, Massachusetts for eleven years. He began his tenure at Church of Our Saviour in September of 2005. He and Lori Ann have two children, Aidan and Emma.
