Children

Children are integral to the Church of Our Saviour community. In addition to weekly Christian education classes, we offer a variety of programs for fun, friendship, and spiritual growth.  For specific dates relating to children's ministries events and activities, see the Children's Ministries Brochure, available here.

New faces are always welcome, so bring your children and their friends, and come try us out! Parents are key to the success of these programs, so we hope that you will become involved!

NURSERY
For children up to age four, we have a well-staffed nursery available on Sundays from 8:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., as well as during other special events.  Children age 3-4 who are potty trained are encouraged to be in the pre-school Church School class, which offers the "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd" program (find out more about this program here).

KIDS' NIGHT OUT
Held the second Friday each month, 6:00-9:30 p.m., during September through early June. This is a wonderful opportunity for children (ages 5-14) to build friendships while parents enjoy an evening out - friends are welcome! CHILDREN'S MUSIC AND DRAMA
Music educator Donna Rehorn leads a program of fun, uplifting music for children and youth. The program includes both choir and music as part of weekly Christian Education. Newly forming is the Saint Nicholas Choir for children in grades 2 through 6.

ACOLYTE PROGRAM
Active participation in worship can be a great way to develop a child's faith. We welcome children (ages 9 and up), as well as youth and adults to serve as acolytes at our Sunday services. Contact us at 434.973.6512 to learn more. 

SUMMER CELEBRATION
We offer a week-long, half-day Summer Celebration every year for children 4 on up, with Bible studies, games, crafts, fun snacks, and lots of fun! Summer Celebration will occur again July 6-10, 2009.
